Success path of Ronaldo is not a straight line and had many ups and downs in it. Ronaldo’s happiness is covered by lots of tears and failures that he left behind and move forward. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best footballers in the world. He brings a smile on our face just by his small sidekick or an awesome goal. The Portuguese Football Federation named him the Best Football Player of Portugal.    

Cristiano possesses 5 Ballon d’ or awards and 4 Golden shoes.  He has won 25 trophies that are UEFA Champions League titles and one UEFA European Championship. He has scored more than 600 goals in his international career.

Ronaldo became first Portuguese Player in Manchester United. He was the most expensive teenager player in the team at that time. He got a special number 7 on his jersey which was a great source of motivation for him. Ronaldo made his debut in the Premier League bringing 4-0 victory over Bolton. The crowd cheered out him with standing ovation. Soon Ronaldo replaced Rooney with his efficient skills in the team.

 

The Federation gave him the title of Premier League Player of the month in the month of November and December continuously.

At the quarter-final stage of the 2006-07 UEFA Euro Champions League. He helped the team to reach FA final. He won the Professional Footballer’s Association’s Player, Fan’s Player and Young player of the year awards in 2007. His club wages rose tremendously to 120,000 euros per week.

Ronaldo played the main role in winning the FIFA Club world cup in Japan to Manchester United. He also won a silver ball in the tournament. He also recorded the title of FIFA World player of the year. His final goal for Manchester’s United was on 10 May 2009 by his astonishing free kick.

During Clasico season against rivals, Ronaldo scored twice to equal his personal record of 42 goals in all competitions in a single season. His first biggest achievement was when he helped Real Madrid to win their first La Liga Title in four years.

He became the first non-Spanish player to captain Madrid since last 60 years. Then he played continuously and consistently for Madrid. But his team also lost many great matches in his presence including La Liga title to Barcelona in 2013. During 2013-14 La Decima campaign Ronaldo scored 17 goals during the season. Despite his being Runner-up for Ballon d’Or, Ronaldo faced criticism and oppression due to his low performance.

 

In 2016 he won the Ballon d’Or for the fourth time and the inaugural of Best FIFA Men’s Player of the year. In Real Madrid’s 3-2 win from Villarreal, his penalty kick became Madrid’s 5900th goal in the history of the league. He became the first player to score 50 goals in the knockout stage of any competition. Jimmy Greaves helped Ronaldo and Madrid to win their first La-Liga title in 2017 since 2012. In the end of 2017, Ronaldo ended the year in his style with his fifth Ballon d’or.

International Career

Ronaldo started his international youth career in 2001 when he started playing for Portugal under 15,17,18 teams constantly. He became the second highest scorer in Europe for 2006 FIFA World Cup with seven goals. Then due to some misunderstandings with Wayne Rooney and Ronaldo’s behavior, he was not considered during selection Tournament’s Best Youth Player.

On his birthday Ronaldo started captaining Portugal. During 2010 World Cup he was not able to score a single goal for his team for qualification. His only goal came in 7-0 win from North Korea which was his first international goal in last 16 months. Portugal lost 2010 World Cup from Spain round 16.

In 2012-16, Ronaldo is considered as all-time top scorer of Portugal. Then he worked hard for 2014 World Cup and scored many goals including 8 goals in qualification matches and 30 goals in the tournament. He played some matches even after having his thigh injury which shows his dedication towards his work.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a man of great determination. He received many injuries including Ankle injury(2009), Contusion(2010), Strain in the thigh and gluteal muscles(2011), Continous Thigh problems(2013-14), Torn collateral Ligament (2016) and a massive face injury. Even after these injuries, he did not lose hope and continued to play for his nation and club whenever he can.
